After about 1 and 1/2 years of doing a C4D image everyday, it became evident that it was time to switch it up and try something new. A few factors contributed to this.
One is I am simply a bit burnt out on the process of trying to make an image, from start to finish, every evening, in Cinema 4D.
The other side of that was time. I now have super happy giggly silly 8 month old baby girl in my life and she takes up a lot of my free time. Add to that a full time job and about 2 hours of commute time and general life stuff and I was just left with a small chunk of time, at the end of the day, in which to make my everydays.
I found myself focusing on what I could make, from start to finish, in X amount of time, and that kind of got in the way of the creative process. Sometimes it just led to me trying things I knew I could finish fast, as opposed to exploring and playing and seeing where the flow led me.
So I decided to try photography for a while. And it is fun! My Canon DSL had been getting dusty and now that I am using it everyday I am starting to feel a lot better about, at the very least, how the camera works. Whether or not I am taking any decent pictures is another thing entirely.
Anyhow, I don’t suspect I will keep to this for an entire year, because I really do want to sink back into C4D before too long because I just enjoy it too much. I just need to work on my time management a bit more.
