Despite having an insanely quick turnaround time, the Snipes "Back to School" animation project is one of my favorites. I partnered with Stablished Projects to animate a 10 second dream sequence. A student falls asleep in class and drops into a dream where he is chasing down a new pair of shoes only to be chased himself by a nightmare-warped monstrous version of his teacher. This video helped to build awareness of Snipes launching new US stores.

challenge.

We had almost no time to do the project and the piece itself had to fit an exact time-slot because the life-action sequence that bookended it was already edited  for length. Ratha from Stablished did all the illustrations in Procreate, which allowed me to take everything into After Effects as layered Photoshop files. This made animating elements and effects a lot easier.

result.

A quick frenetic action dream sequence that perfectly fit the vibe of the spot. It's a unique spot that really stood out for it's look and inventive approach to animation.
